Fr. Christian Lupus (1612-1681), Opera Omnia, Synodorum generalium, ac provincialium decreta, et canones, Pars Primus, Operum Tomus Primus, ed. 1724, p. 70: “For in fact the Saracens, although they worship God as Almighty, nevertheless (along with Sabellius) make Him out to be barren, and they deny that the Son and the Holy Spirit proceed from Him; and so in their profane minds they reduce Him to an idol.  It is not the true God that they worship, but this idol of theirs.  Hence too the Calvinists, who imagine God to be the Author of sin, fail to worship the true God, invent an idol, and perpetrate a complete idolatry.”

Fr. Christian Lupus was a Flemish scholastic theologian who died in 1681.
