Against Eastern Schismatics

The Eastern “Orthodox” reject the papacy and believe all bishops are equal in authority, though some hold honorary positions. This contradicts Christ’s establishment of papal primacy, leading to internal disputes like the recent break between the Russian and Greek Orthodox Churches over Ukraine. Their inconsistent ecclesiology also makes it impossible to determine true ecumenical councils, despite their reliance on the Pentarchy system. The Council of Florence in 1439, which affirmed papal supremacy and the Filioque, met their own criteria for an ecumenical council, yet they rejected it. This rejection, along with their historical resistance to papal authority, led to divine punishment, symbolized by the fall of Constantinople to Islam on Pentecost in 1453. Ultimately, their contradictions prove Eastern Orthodoxy to be a false religion, while Catholicism is the true faith.
